The exclusive traditional beautiful Boutique Hotel has been the home ( DWARIKA CHHEN ) for the Manandhar family for over 300 years. Chhen means house in the Newar dialect. Newars have been the local ethnic people of Kathmandu for over 1600 years. This Heritage Hotel is an Eco friendly hotel, most of the architectural carvings and furnitures are made from re-cycled wood. Preserved traditional exclusive architectural windows and doors in the hotel dates back over 800 years.

“Beautiful authentic Newari-style building and inner courtyard, right next to Durbar Square, and only a 15 minute walk to Thamel. The place is family-run and the owners are very welcoming and extremely helpful. Bedrooms are very nicely decorated with convenient attached bathrooms. We particularly enjoyed the Newari set breakfast, which was not included in our rate, but was very reasonably priced. We would definitely come back.”
